Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds and jobs including business owners, pastors, college students, salesman, mechanics, fulltime firefighters in neighboring departments, and police officers. More

We exist to improve the quality of life and reduce the loss of life through community engagement and emergency response.
1. One team. Nothing in this business is accomplished alone. We are committed to bettering ourselves and the team placed around us. We are our first team and any individual’s success is only a reflection of the team’s success.
2. One task. The task will change from day to day, buy we are all in when assigned a task. We bring integrity, experience, and commitment to every task, treating it as the one task.
3. One tradition. We are steeped in tradition. The fire service is America’s greatest volunteer force in history. The time-tested, salt-soaked history of the fire service, both nationally and in our own community, gives us a great point of pride.
4. One tomorrow. Everything we do, we do with our all. Such a view requires us to leave things better than we find them, no matter the situation. With all integrity, we set our eyes on the future and to making it the best possible tomorrow possible.

Unlike municipal fire departments, Deep Gap doesn’t have available fire hydrants that we can pull water from during a fire incident. Rural fire departments, such as Deep Gap, pull water from creeks, ponds, rivers and underground tanks to supply our tankers and engines. Our team trains on this operation routinely....
In June, 2023, Deep Gap Fire responded to 27 total incidents! This included multiple motor vehicle accidents, medical emergencies and weather related calls.
